Playtex Review & Giveaway:
Drop-In Nurser Bottles, SmartSteam Sterilizer, & Formula Dispenser
Just in time for the birth of my little girl last month, I received a great package of goodies from the folks over at Playtex: Playtex Nurser Bottles with Drop-In Liners, SmartSteam Microwave Sterilizer, and SmartPrep Portable Formula Dispenser. These three products are a new moms best friend and truly a package like this should be delivered to the doorstep of any and all expectant moms. I would have saved a lot of time, space, and frustration if I had these products when my son was an infant! I am definitely going to take advantage of my new Playtex goodies for many [MANY!] months to come while we bottle feed our daughter.
Playtex SmartSteam Microwave Sterilizer
Once upon a time, I was slaving over our stovetop …
… with a pot of boiling water whenever I had to sterilize baby bottle nipples and caps.
"Whenever" happened every single day.

My luck changed a few weeks ago when Playtex sent over their amazing SmartSteam Microwave Sterilizer, which is quite possibly the greatest product ever created to make mom’s life a LOT easier. I really don’t think you could actually put a price on giving new moms a tool that’ll help them save as much time and energy as the SmartSteam sterilizer, but luckily it holds a very affordable and reasonable price tag of $34.95.
The Playtex SmartSteam Sterilizer 3-in-1 Microwave System kills 99.9% of germs in under 2-minutes and makes the process of sterilization a LOT easier for busy moms. The package came nearly 2-weeks after my daughter was born. I was already tired of going through the boiling water process and forgot how time consuming it could be to clean our bottles and nipples.

I setup my new SmartSteam system immediately after delivery and started to fill it up minutes later.
[No, I couldn't wait to try it out!]
First thing you’ll need to do is add water to the bottom center of your sterilizer tray. There’s a fill line so you know just how much water to use.

Place up to 6 bottles into the sterilizer tray and fill the accessories bucket (center) with as many nipples, covers, and other bottle feeding accessories that require sterilization. I don’t want to overstuff, but I can always fit PLENTY of items into our microwave sterilizer.
I set my microwave for 10-minutes and go about my business while my sterilizer does its magic inside of my microwave. Once it is done, I allow it to sit and cool off until I am ready to empty it, which I love! I love that I can set my microwave to sterilize and continue doing what I have to do that doesn’t involve watching a boiling pot of water. I can actually get other things done around the house, or spend time with my kids.
I spend enough time in the kitchen as it is!
Playtex Nurser Bottles with Drop-In Liners

I never thought that I would like to use bottles that used drop-in liners, but I am now finding myself preferring our new Playtex Nurser bottles over the others! There are so many different things that I love about the Nurser bottles — starting with ease and cleanliness! The Playtex Nurser Bottles with Drop-In Liners starter kit that I received came with five bottles and matching Drop-In Liners to get us started.

Even though I am strictly bottle feeding, I learned that the Playtex Nurser is a great transitional bottle when you are switching baby from breast to bottle. The disposable liners are pre-sterilized and collapse as baby drinks, which means she is taking is less air and experiencing less colic discomfort.

The slow-flow nipple features a raised texture that helps baby latch on naturally. My daughter had no problem adjusting and taking the nipple during her first feeding. The shape and texture definitely seemed to display a much more natural flow as opposed to her other nipples.
The value pack includes five 8 ounce bottles with Drop-In Liners. Playtex Nurser bottles are BPA free silicone and suggested for ages 0-24 months. The set retails for $24.99 and available at most online and local retailers, such as Babies ‘R Us and Target.
Playtex SmartPrep Portable Formula Dispenser

Preparing a bottle isn’t TOO difficult, but it does become a hassle when you are making dozens at a time or half asleep while mixing. Anything that can make the job a little easier or cleaner, I want to know all about it! I was very excited when I saw the Playtex SmartPrep Portable Formula Dispenser was included with my package from Playtex.

All of the nightmares that I had from the days that my son was bottle feeding started to resurface. I thought about that time we put the ENTIRE CAN of baby formula in my diaper bag. I remembered how sick to my stomach I felt when that can wound up ALL OVER the bottom of my diaper bag. Now that I have my portable formula dispenser from Playtex, I don’t have to worry anymore about wasting formula when we are on the go!

There are four individual compartments that can each hold up to 8 ounce servings each. The Snap ‘n Click leak-proof seal ensures there won’t be any spillage, so I don’t have to worry about cleaning up formula from the bottom of my diaper bag anymore! Each compartment has its own flip cap spout to guarantee a precise pour from compartment into baby bottle. Of course, Playtex SmartPrep is a BPA free product!

I’m most excited about the Playtex SmartSteam Sterilizer! I remember constantly dropping pacifiers and bottles onto the floor. It would have been nice to have this when Bella was a baby, but I’d love to win this for my cousin’s newborn baby boy!

When my grand daughter was a baby and we were traveling a lot with her the container with the 4 compartments was the best invention I ever seen. It was so easy to make a bottle in the car while she was screaming and my husband was driving, because each section held the exact amount of formula you needed for each bottle. Now my daughter is pregnant and I will be babysitting so this would be great for me to win.
I really like the Playtex SmartPrep Portable Formula Dispenser , because it makes it easier to have just the amount you need and you don’t have to take the whole can of formula with you.
Not too long ago, my 9 year old knocked over a can of formula on the counter. She panicked and tried to clean it up- causing it to lump up with the wet cloth she was trying to use.
The portable dispenser is look good. I love it.
The SmartSteam Sterilizer would have been VERY useful to me months ago, wish I had one then. We are a bit past the sterilization stage, however I just might be picking up the formula dispenser when I head out today. I could have really used one this past easter weekend!!!! What a great idea for on-the-go!
