Debt Settlement for Moms:
Fixing Credit Card Debt w/ Legal Assistance
There was a time (long, long ago) when things like credit scores, debt, and credit card balances didn’t mean anything to me. Sure, I thought about them, but how much weight do those issues seriously have on a young adult? Luckily, I didn’t bury myself too deep into debt prior to getting married and becoming a mom in 2009. However, I quickly discovered just how easy it was to become buried in an endless pile of bills and endless debt with no end in sight. That’s why I want to talk to all of you about debt and credit card settlement options. We’re ALL going through these issues and whether we want to think about it or not – we must discuss!
As soon as my son was born, our bills started to pile up. As soon as I would pay off a debt, our new monthly statements were delivered — and they were doubling, tripling, and making me sick! How did we go from a lofty savings account into a pile of debt? Were kids seriously THIS expensive? Apparently they are — and they don’t get any cheaper as the years go by. Now we’re adding a second child to our family next week, so I am eager to pick up the pace on our debt since I am well aware of the tremendous financial stress we will be thrown into this year. Doubling our children means doubling our bills.
One idea that I’ve been considering (quite seriously, actually) is hiring an attorney to assist us with debt settlement options for our credit cards and other revolving balances that I cannot seem to handle. There are a lot of options out there and a bankruptcy attorney, such as Wadwani & Shanfeld, could really help our family out (majorly!!!).
I’ve been trying to do it on my own for nearly 4-years. I’ve made a dent, but that isn’t enough. I’m looking to make a MAJOR change for our family and encourage a brighter future for all of us. There is nothing like being held down by debt. It’s the worst feeling in the world and the idea of an attorney being able to take that weight off of our shoulders sounds like a dream come true for all of us.
