A few weeks ago, I posted details about a Graco event that I would be hosting here in New York City at one of our  Babies ‘R Us locations  in Union Square, New York City. Attendees had a chance to learn all about the newest Graco SnugRide Click Connect 40 carseat and we also had a chance to hold a giveaway for TWO carseats during the event! This was an amazing event and I was thrilled to be hostessing since I am pregnant with my second child and actively seeking a brand new seat for my little girl to use when she comes along in January (2013)!

Yes, I did all of "this" only 3-years ago when my son was born, but things sure do change! Ask any parent about the ever-evolving and changing rules, product updates and alterations, or the overwhelming variety of options when it comes to infant carseats and you’ll be surprised! I learned a lot about how much the ‘rules’ and recommendations have changed since my son was born in 2009 thanks to Graco. One of the most alarming and useful bits of information comes from the American Academy of Pediatrics, which recently made the recommendation to keep all children in rear-facing car seats until the age of 2.

Our attendees had a chance to enjoy a hands-on experience with the newest SnugRide car seat as they were given detailed explanations and descriptions of how the seat would work — and why this seat is going to be a better choice for their children. Hearing about a new change to the car seat rules or recommendations always raises questions, so we weren’t surprised at all when parents had to ask WHY and HOW this would be a safer option versus the car seat safety policies from the past.

This event was an excellent way for us to share and show off the newest Graco SnugRide Click Connect car seat as it paralleled an important change to the American Academy of Pediatrics’ recommendations for rear facing until the age of 2. Parents had a chance to see the car seat in action and discover how the size would work for a 2-year-old child rear facing, which might sound difficult or lacking of legroom, which isn’t true!

We had two SnugRide Click Connect 40 car seats out for our attendees to check out, which reflected the two different pattern designs that are currently available: Mena (pink) and Moonstruck (light gray). Guests were invited to try out the mechanisms and get an up-close and personal feel for the functions and features on this new car seat. 

Graco took into account that babies and toddlers come in all sizes. The SnugRide Click Connect is suitable for preemies through 2-year-old toddlers as it offers plenty of seat padding and the ability to implement adjustments as your child grows.

I truly appreciated everything she did to make things (a lot) easier. On top of all the fun, learning, and excitement – we also held two different raffles and TWO families were selected to receive a brand new Graco SnugRide car seat! The anticipation grew and the lack of patience was intense as the crowd waited (and waited, and waited) for us to draw our winners during each of the sessions.

Pictured below is our lucky couple from the first raffle card that we pulled out during this (amazing!) Graco event. Congratulations to the lucky couple! They are expecting in early-2013 and have one less thing to worry about buying for their new bundle of joy! Both of our winners were very excited and can’t wait to start using their new carseats.

Everyone loved the opportunity to learn all about this brand new car seat and educate themselves on the newest recommendations made by the American Academy of Pediatrics, but our winners were most grateful for the opportunity to WIN a SnugRide Click Connect 40 car seat, too!

While we were talking all about Graco’s SnugRide Click Connect 40, parents wanted to know about how they could use the car seat while on the go. I loved how easy it was to transport our infant carseat from the car to our stroller and vice versa, so we made sure to have the Click Connect Stroller on display for all to see!

I was amazed at how quickly and easily the Click Connect stroller folded up, but I think the most surprising was just how compacted it is to ensure minimal need for storage space and ease of fitting in trunks of any size. Our current stroller is VERY bulky and a true painful headache to breakdown. It was love at first sight when my eye caught a glimpse of the Click Connect stroller in action…
