September 11th – Never Forget: 9/11
Quotes In Memoriam
No matter where you were on the morning of September 11th, your heart was broken as our nation was hit with a tragedy that will never be forgotten. As a New Yorker, I was personally terrified and knew that my life would never be the same. It was a feeling that I will always remember, but never want to relive ever again.
In memory of the lives that we lost on 9/11, but a praise for our heroes that saved others, I am pleased to present a thoughtful list of various quotes and sayings that I have collected over the past few days. MamaNYC will feature some other posts in memoriam.

"In the aftermath of September 11, and as the 9/11 Commission report so aptly demonstrates, it is clear that our intelligence system is not working the way that it should." - Hillary Clinton
"Understand the causes of terror? Yes, we should try, but let there be no moral ambiguity about this: nothing could ever justify the events of September 11 and it is to turn justice on its head to pretend it could” - Tony Blair

"The terrorist attacks on September the 11th were a turning point for our nation. We saw the goals of a determined enemy: to expand the scale of their murder, and force America to retreat from the world. And our nation accepted a mission: We will defeat this enemy.
The United States of America is determined to guard our homeland against future attacks. As the September the 11th Commission concluded, our country is safer than we were three years ago, but we are not yet safe." - George W. Bush
"The city is going to survive, we are going to get through it, it’s going to be very, very difficult time. I don’t think we yet know the pain that we’re going to feel when we find out who we lost, but the thing we have to focus on now is getting this city through this, and surviving and being stronger for it." – Rudolph Giuliani
"Our enemies have made the mistake that America’s enemies always make. They saw liberty and thought they saw weakness. And now, they see defeat." -- President George W. Bush,

"If the evens of September 11, 2001, have proven anything, it’s that the terrorists can attack us, but they can’t take away what makes us American – our freedom, our liberty, our civil rights. No, only Attorney General John Ashcroft can do that." - Jon Stewart

Yes, I will remember-always. I worked in NYC at that time-luckily not that day.

My husband just returned from a business trip to New York and got to see the 9/11 Memorial + Reflection Pool for the first time. It was a beautiful, humbling tribute for such a tragic day.
I will always remember where I was and what I was doing that day. I am so glad that they are getting the memorial done, but I wish the museum would be open soon.
This is one of those memories that will always stick with you – where you were and what you were doing when the twin towers were taken out by terrorists. Thanks for sharing.
