I guess the 2 children’s vision holidays go with Getting ready for Kindergarten, but why have National Truancy Prevention in the month when most schools are closed?- unless it’s for the very beginning of school when most truancies don’t occur?

  • Sarah L

I’ll be celebrating National Thrift Shop Day: 17, National Mustard Day: 4 (First Saturday)National Mustard Day: 4 (First Saturday), Happiness Happens Day: 8 and Happiness Happens Month.

If only we could have a day off each holiday. Haha.
And my boyfriend missed National Girlfriend’s Day. Grr.

  • LIndsay Lee

Yum I guess I will have to make cupcakes on national cupcake day and make smores on national toasted marshmallow day! I never would have guess that august had that many holidays. =)

  • Richard Hicks

Oh my! I think we have overdone it with celebrating just about anything on any day.

I am most interested in the Cupcake day.

  • Michelle S

Some of these are pretty tame, but then there are the bizarre ones. I wonder what goes into making something a national “day” lol.

  • Melissa Stoneback-Tuttle

Thanks for sharing this. I run a postcard swap group and every month I try my best to observe some of the weird and off holidays we have. This was a great helper in thinking of swap ideas. Thanks so much again :)

We have one more entering Kindergarten this year, only two more left (seven have already entered before them). The funny thing … our youngest will be entering school the same year our two oldest will be on their senior year in high school.
