Just in time for September and the new school year, I received this beautiful Guardian Angel School Protect Medal from PicturesOnGold. Equipped with a gorgeous 16" inch Sterling Silver Box Chain, I fell in love with this medal that is not only a great piece of jewelry, but a great symbol and shield to protect my child while in school. 

The front of the medal features a guardian angel in color along with the words "Guardian Angel; Protect Me" inscribed on top and bottom. Flip over your Back to School medal and it reads: "Protect My Child". 

This guardian angel is a angel who protects and guides a particular person. The concept of tutelary angels and their hierarchy was extensively developed in Christianity in the 5th century by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite.

The theology of angels, and tutelary spirits, has undergone many refinements since the 400′s, and contemporary orthodox belief in both the eastern and western churches is that guardian angels protect the body and present prayers to God, protecting whichever person God assigns them to. The Roman Catholic Church calendar of saints includes a memorial for guardian angels on October 2.
