Big Building Bag & The Amazing Spider-Man Bridge Showdown

We recently received two amazing sets of blocks from Mega Bloks to review here on MamaNYC. My son literally screamed, jumped, and clapped the entire way up the steps once he saw the deliver with the Mega Bloks logo outside of the box, which he has grown to love and recognize. I could barely get the box open before my son began to rip open the top and see what was inside. I don’t think my son was THIS excited on Christmas morning (seriously!). 

The great folks over at Mega Bloks sent us a builders kit from their brand new Amazing Spider-Man collection: Bridge Showdown. My son has turned into a Spider-Man fanatic overnight, so this was going to be a lot of fun to review for our family! We also found an 80-piece builders bag from the Mega Bloks First Builders collection. We immediately got to work so that we could churn out an honest and fun-filled review for all of my readers (Okay, I won’t lie! Although we WERE working on a review, I think our initial reason for immediately playing with our new sets was because they are just … AWESOME!).

We downloaded the Mega Bloks’ First Builders app onto our iPad as soon as we got to building with our FirstBuilders 80pc. set. The app features tips and instructions on how to build fun and colorful animals, boats, vehicles and more! Suitable for parents to guide along with children ages 1-5. 

Mega Bloks’ First Builders Let’s Build! app was a perfect supplement to go along with our new Mega Bloks Big Building Bag! Although I love to see my son build as he wishes and use his own creative mind, I also enjoy watching him read instructions! This was an excellent skill building tool and lesson on how to follow step-by-step instructions. Following along with the First Builders app on our iPad, I was able to guide my son along and build fun animals and vehicles, such as Baby Dino (see above!).

Mega Bloks was the very first brand of blocks that we purchased for our son. Now that I think of it, Mega Bloks is the ONLY brand of blocks that we own! Their building blocks have always been a favorite brand name in our households growing up, which is why we both decided to go with their building bags as soon as our son was ready to start building.

My baby has grown (quite quickly) into such a little boy. Every little boy loves his action heroes, especially Spider-Man!
