Arm & Hammer Spinbrush Champions for Kids
Today I was able to educate my son about two very important lessons in one: oral care and donating to those in needs. We are participating and doing whatever we can to help out Champions for Kids, which is working to ensure all children have the resources they need to thrive.
Through this program, I am specifically working on their Spinbrush Spin Into Action program! Every child needs a toothbrush, so we will do what we can to donate a Spinbrush for a little boy or girl this week!
Before we headed out to our local Walmart, I discussed our mission and what we were going to look for once we arrived at the store. I told my son that I would be purchasing three new toothbrushes, but we would only keep two of them. The third toothbrush would be given to a little boy or girl through our church, which has an ongoing program to donate canned food, back to school supplies, apparel, winter coats, and other necessities for children in need.
As always… I prepared my shopping list!

We didn’t need too much, but there were a few things I wanted to purchase before we ran out (such as, baby wipes!).

My son seemed to be very excited and started talking about our shopping trip as if we were going on a secret mission! He was asking a lot of questions. Would the little boy or girl know we gave it to them? Is he going to use it every day and night, too? Will he like the color we pick out?

I told my son the little boy will be very thankful and we should be too for all that we have. He smiled; I teared a bit as his interest and gratitude as he kissed me and said how much fun this was going to be!

Walmart had so many back to school supplies on everything for the student to kickoff their school year!
I browsed the aisle a bit to see if there was anything we needed to buy.
Sure enough I found a pack of markers for my son, which were only 50 cents! This was a bargain that I was not going to pass up today!

I knew exactly where to find the oral hygiene products at our local Walmart, so we headed straight over as soon as my son tossed his new pack of markers into our cart. The brand new Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes were directly in front of us as soon as we turned the aisle! I couldn’t believe how many different color and style choices were available for children and adults!

I let my son pick out his own Spinbrush, which was no surprise to me! Of course he wanted me to buy a Thomas The Train Spinbrush!

We also found Spider-Man!
My son is a huge Spider-Man fan, but he opted to go with Thomas The Train.

At the end of our trip, I went home with 3 brand new Arm & Hammer Spinbrushes and four tubes of toothpaste. My son decided he would only keep one toothpaste. The other two will go to a child in need! I was so proud of my son for making this decision on his own.

Why are we on a mission to donate a Spinbrush for a child in need? We are participating in the Spin Into Action SIMPLE Service Project. Did you know that over 19% of children ages 2-19 have untreated cavities? Tooth decay is the most common disease of childhood. Children living in poverty suffer twice as much tooth decay as their more affluent peers, and their disease is more likely to go untreated.
How can we help? If I can donate one toothbrush to a child in need every month or two, I can help provide the resources and tools necessary for at least 8-12 children per year to avoid tooth decay. The mission was simple, but the benefits and results will be tremendous.

You are raising your son well – he already knows how to “share” at such a young age! But my little guy would have kept “his” toothbrush clutched in his little hands – no cart for him

Our boys would get along so well. My boy is so excited about his Spiderman Spinbrush and he can’t wait to give the other one to his friend. Now…time to illicit some donations! This is such a great time of year for this, too!
