Today is Dr. Seuss’ birthday, which we still celebrate and will for many more years to come! How will you celebrate today? Will you make it a very Seussical Day? The Lorax movie comes out TODAY, so why not head to the theatre with your children for a Seuss sort of night?! You can also head to the store and purchase The Lorax Blu-Ray, which was released on February 14th!
I recently introduced my son to the 2003 version of The Cat In The Hat starring Mike Myers and Alec Baldwin. I think it would be very appropriate to watch the movie with my son and also sit back and read a few of his Dr. Seuss books!

Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known as Dr. Seuss was born on March 2, 1904 in Springfield Massachusetts. He was a writer, cartoonist, animator, book publisher, and an artist. Beyond all of these occupations and professional talents, the world know him best for his Cat In The Hat series. His pen names were Dr. Seuss, Theo LeSieg, Rosetta Stone, and Theophrastus Seuss!
Dr. Seuss passed away on September 24, 1991 at the age of 87 - but his legacy shall live on forever through his writing! Every child likely owns at least one Dr. Seuss book, but it’s much more predictable to find over a dozen in a book collection!
One of my favorite all-time quotes, which goes BEYOND just a favorite Dr. Seuss quotes:

This has been my favorite quote since I was a little girl. It meant a lot to a confused and pubescent version of myself, and I still think of this quote whenenver I am having a bad hair day or emotional roller coaster sort of week!
Dr. Seuss’ talents stretch far beyond books, which in itself is a tremendous success story. Check out some of Dr. Seuss’ artwork:
The Waterfall

Martini Bird

Ted’s Cat – 50th Anniversary Cat in the Hat

A Plethora of Fish

Sawfish with Such a Long Snout (McElligot’s Pool)
…but perhaps his most memorable artwork of all:
Dr. Seuss’ Books!

I did not know he had all those pen names! Really nice article. We celebrated by going to our local library where they have a party every year the past several years for Dr. Seuss. They even cook green eggs there!
