I remember the first pair of Heelys that I saw and how I immediately reacted. I was too old for a pair myself and wished someone had come up with this amazing idea only a decade earlier. Well, I learned a lot the past few weeks and I am here to share my new revelations with all of you. Heelys are NOT just for kids! I repeat… Heely’s are NOT just for kids! (Yes, adults can have fun too!!!).
What are Heelys? Although I have a feeling most of you will have plenty of experience and knowledge of these very popular shoes, I will gladly post a reintroduction to brush-up your memory (or, help those that have yet to experience the amazingness of Heely’s!):
Heelys are the original shoe with wheels in the heels that allow the user to transition from a walk to a roll by shifting the weight to the heel. Users can also transform Heelys to street shoes by removing the wheels.
The high-quality of Heely shoes is phenomenal and will outlast the weather, abuse, and normal wear and tear that comes expected with a shoe purchase. My son is always wearing his sneakers out quickly and without much time passing. I’ve noticed that Heelys are made from topnotch materials, which is going to be a HUGE plus since these are not only going to be used as general day-to-day shoes, but will also be actively worn as skating shoes with wheels!
One feature of Heelys shoes that I love is the ability to wear these as normal shoes OR wheeled bottoms. I don’t want to carry around two pairs of shoes if we are out running errands. My son will want to wear his shoes if we are at the park, but then we may need to take a trip to the local strip mall. I don’t think it would be appropriate to have my child walk skate into a local shop. Heelys are easily transformed from regular sneakers to skate shoes!

I was expecting to have the choice between black, white and maybe one other color/style choice. I was shocked (and glad!) to find out that Heelys has an entire page dedicated to different wheel designs (pink, checkerboard, etc!).

My son loved his Heelys, I did try a pair once and I immediately saw the appeal. Don’t think I would purchase a pair though but they are a lot of fun.
These are so cool! I think it would be great to have them as an adult, why should the kids have all the fun, right? Lol

My kids both have these and like them a lot. It’s a nice gift for a child, just make sure they take precautions because my kids have fallen and sustained some nasty bruses.
