Lucinda Sue Crosby, former Hollywood actress (Pretty Woman, Beaches, Frankie & Johnny, and more), has recently published Francesca of Lost Nation, which has most recently won three literary awards. Lucinda is also known as a recorded Nashville songwriter, professional athlete, award-winning journalist, commissioned poet, and winner of various environmental awards. Plus, she is also Roy Roger’s Goddaughter, which is just another perk to her already fantastic resume of experience and qualifications.

Francesca of Lost Nation is the story of a 59-year old woman and her granddaughter, Sarah, during the summer of 1947 "with the wounds and sacrifices of World War II still too fresh in everyone’s minds". The story is set in a small village called Lost Nation, Iowa. We are introduced to these characters and learn of their close friendship as best friends.

This story is told from Sarah’s viewpoint as she spends her summer with her grandmother. Her parents have won a trip to Europe and she will gain a great deal of knowledge, experience, and understanding while staying with her grandmother, Francesca. As a young woman that considers herself to be especially close and best friended with her own grandmother, I found this story to be remarkably heartwarming, close-to-home, and impressive. Book Description: "Unconventional, daring and intelligent Francesca, and her resourceful 10-year old granddaughter, Sarah, embrace the adventures of a lifetime over the summer of 1947 in Lost Nation, Iowa. Together, they enchant barnstorming pilots,  wow Clinton County Fair goers, confront an escaped felon, conquer the skies, discover how Lost nation got its intriguing name and demonstrate to one another the greatest truth about love.

My name is Nicole Napolitano and I am a full-time professional parenting blogger and work-at-home mom of two adorable and vivacious children (boy - 6 & girl - 2.5). I decided to develop MamaNYC in 2010 shortly (1-month) after transitioning from work-a-holic Internet marketing pro to the shoes of a stay-at-home mom (bored!). As a dedicated business manager for over 9-years, I was determined and positive that I would once again be a successful business woman -- whether or not I had a diaper bag tagging along! I am a New York City native, but relocated with my husband and our two kids to sunny Los Angeles in the summer of 2014. Leaving everything behind was scary, but it's time to make new memories. My interests include web design, Internet marketing, product development and research, SEO, movies, friends, and spending time with my family.
